Let's make a mess!

I went to a baby food class at Naturally Loved a store a few blocks from where we live, the girl said if the baby wasn't really interested in the food let them explore it play with it and they will taste it too, oh dear look at the Bailey mess, it was in her hair! Ear! Neck crease! Yuk

Snowdrift

I was planning this photo op, before she was born!
Chuck her into a snow drift, brilliant and true Bailey style she was smiling!
We visited Estes park and it wasn't actually snowing there was a pile of cleared snow!

Happy little B

Oh she is a happy little B, fed, changed and not bored or overtired she is happy, happy, happy!
Those first few weeks were hard she didn't like to go to sleep and it seemed like she cried for three straight hours at night! Luckily my parents stayed with us for 6 weeks in the end!
And mum and I would just look at each other, countless times I would say 'what's wrong with her?' there were regular tears, it's hard when your just getting to know this little thing and she's upset and you don't know how to make her better.
Some nights it was almost as if she was watching the clock when it hit 12 she'd fall asleep, once she was literally mid cry the clock turned 12 o'clock and she fell asleep, gone!
I think she just didn't know how to fall asleep, eventually instead of rocking, walking, trying more feed, changing her, I put her in her crib swaddled her and put her dummy in the gripe water then in her mouth - repeated it and she fell asleep.
Thankfully those days are gone and fingers crossed she sleeps well (I'll say it quietly!!!) she has slept well 10 hrs from 6 weeks old!!! Amazing yes! Will it last, I hope and pray!!!
Definitely makes for a happy baby, and even more so a happy mummy!

Bailey's first picture

We had a professional photographer come and take pictures, this was my idea and the photographer loved it so much she said she was gonna try it on all her shoots!!
I uploaded it to iPhone with some app, so the actual photo is better, but don't seem to be able to have time to get on the computer much.....nowadays!

it's a wriggling...

So for a while now everyone has been saying 'are you feeling the baby move'

And of course me being a worrier, worried - should I be feeling it? the weird thing is with not knowing what its supposed to feel like, I mean its not like you don't get movement but most just feels like ( and normally is) your bowel movements, wind, wind, wind, oh the joys of pregnancy!

BUT on the 30th of May - I woke up and felt a big kick - and again and again Steve even got to feel it, it was like a really strong heartbeat, and for the last few days it has been happening in the evening and mornings - while I'm lying down - though today I have felt it on and off all morning!

Then the other day - I felt a hard something in my lower tummy and then it went away and the came back again - I think it may have been a foot - its so weird.

I think this left foot may be the culprit for all the kicks, grow strong baby as whether you're a boy or a girl your gonna need to use you feet as football is gonna be in your life!!!

baby Names...

I always had a list of names I liked, well it wasn't a list as such but a whole page in the back of my list book, I only showed it to Steve the other day he thanked me for not showing it to him earlier.
I think he thinks I'm weird but with years of trying to get pregnant - you amass an amount of names and ideas.

BUT once I was actually pregnant the name page was whittled down as I looked at the names and saw that
a) some of the names had been used by my friends
b) some of the names we're just plain ridiculous
I ended up with only a few maybes.

The responsibility of naming a child is scary, they have it for the rest of their lives, such a responsibility we were going through name books so quickly just dismissing names.

Steve came home from work early on in the pregnancy with a girls name he thought of, I think he may have read it in the boys name section the night before and it obviously stuck in his brain and popped out for a girls name, he even had a nickname idea for it already! bless we're keeping it a secret as no one can help but comment on your names even if you say 'I love *****' people will say 'oh no that's awful' - erm I said I love that name????

so now we have 1 definite girls name and a possible back up and 2 possible boys names although we're not so in love with the boys names!

Freak out friday!

or just plain freaky Friday.

I got a load of magazines from the library and didn't look at the mags before I got home, very Eco, breastfeeding people on every page, earth mamma, natural birth style mags - so I was freaked
BUT I read and it has some really interesting article and opened me up a little to the natural way.

One thing I still don't think is necessary is boobs out on display in public, discreet breastfeeding is great- yeah I know its the most natural thing in the world and people need their rights!!! but so is sex and you wouldn't have sex in Starbucks!!!! think about it!

oh this was blogged on decor8blog one of my daily read blogs  - I must add my list of blogs to this site, its on the to do list along with sooo many other things.

I just looked at this delicious e magazine, this photo below could be my 'girl' room mood board, I've been morning the loss of cookie magazine who are no longer in production booo, I read only 2 copies last year as well I wasn't gonna be a parent then, now I wish it was still around it was v stylish and modern and not too baby, parent, freaky but this fits the bill on that quirky artsy front with delicious design details too....

and this below is the wording from my list of fave songs would be nice framed, Colour I love colour....just a taste of the mag and I'm smitten.
